Hanan Eshaq
Hanan Eshaq is a writer, photographer, and visual artist based in Yemen. She started exploring visual arts during Yemen’s civil unrest in 2011. Hanan was forced to experience conflict in the outside world which called her to turn inwards. Art was the best medium for Hanan to process the need for an internal resolution which allowed for reinterpretation of the world around her. Today, Hanan‘s artwork extends to ink on paper drawings which express a range of concepts, including her internal dialogue as a woman living in a conservative and complex reality. In addition to expressing personal observations, Hanan also finds special interest in social structures, collective consciousness, and challenging the status quo.
