Alicia Kısmet Eler (they/she) is an arts journalist, critic, novelist and comedian. She is the author of The Selfie Generation, and the visual art critic/reporter at the Minneapolis Star Tribune, which won a 2021 Pulitzer Prize for the breaking news reporting of George Floyd’s killing. Alicia’s journalism has been published in The Guardian, New York Magazine, Glamour, Harper’s Bazaar, and her fiction has appeared in Queen Mobs Teahouse and Projecttile Lit. Alicia grew up in the Chicago suburbs with a secular Jewish mom and Turkish dad. She feels very connected to Istanbul, and is based in Minneapolis. She is at work on her second book, a novel, and can be seen on stages everywhere making people laugh.
