Bernard Plossu is a celebrated French photographer who was born in Vietnam in 1945.
His photographic initiation started when his father took him to visit the Sahara in 1958 with a Kodak brownie flash.
In 1965 he went to Mexico, and traveled incessantly thereafter.
In 1988 he won the Grand Prix National de la Photographie, and his work was given a retrospective at MNAM in the Centre Pompidou.
He has produced more than 25 books and his work has been shown in over 30 expositions.
Two exhibitions of his work were held simultaneously in 2011, one in Marseille’s Vieille Charité and the other, “La Montagne Blanche,” at the Musée Granet in Aix-en-Provence.
He lives in La Ciotat with his wife, photographer Françoise Nuñez.
