Amany Kamal Eldin grew up in Cairo, where she became a staff writer and editor for the Egyptian Gazette. She studied literature and international affairs at Wellesley and Columbia, and has lived and worked in Kenya, Italy, Oman and Yemen. Her short stories have appeared in diverse publications, including the anthology Countries of the Heart. She lives in Abu Dhabi.
