Rojda Idil Arslan

is a researcher and PhD candidate in Comparative Literary and Cultural Studies at the University of Connecticut. Her research focuses on contemporary Kurdish novels and the ways human rights are reimagined in works of fiction. She writes essays on literature, empathy, and culture on her Substack, and her academic writing has appeared in Middle Eastern Literatures and other journals. She grew up in Istanbul and is based in Connecticut.
