Nasim T. Stone

is currently a PhD student at Indiana University specializing in Kurdish studies. In 2024, she received her Master of Arts in Comparative Literature at San Francisco State University where she concentrated on Persian (Farsi) translation. Her roots in Appalachia and Kurdistan reflect her projects on tattoos, mythology, and ecological narratives. Her translation work, a joint endeavor with Dr. Hewa S. Khalid, will debut with Hero of the Kurdistan Republic Memoir of a Revolutionary Captain through McFarland Publishers. Their translated selection of short stories from Hasan Qizilji will be published in 2027 with Henar Press with one of the stories appearing in The Southern Review in Fall 2026.
