Hoshang Waziri

is a Kurdish-Iraqi American award-winning playwright, poet, and writer whose work has appeared in both English and Arabic in The New York Review of Books, Al-Hayat, As-Safir, Two Thirds North, Jadaliyya, The Arab Theater Magazine, among others. His plays have won several prizes, including first prize in the Arab Theater Institute’s 2015 competition, and have been performed at theater festivals across the Arab world. In 2025, his play The Sky Is Not Yours received first place at the 11th Fujairah Monodrama Competition. His latest play, Tahta Shajarаt il-Tîn, is forthcoming from Ramina Books.
