Abdul Bacet Khurram

Shamsia is a writer from Afghanistan. She has a BA in Persian Literature from Kabul University, where she also studied psychology and philosophy. Shamsia worked as a secondary school teacher before the fall of Kabul in 2021. She says she started writing while at school because needed a place to share her pain. Writing gives her a sense of peace. She starts each day with a new idea, the challenge lies in executing them well.

Abdul Bacet Khurram is a reporter, interpreter and literary translator working in Dari, Pashto, and English. He studied Chinese Literature at university in Beijing where he also spent time teaching English in kindergartens and secondary schools. He returned to Afghanistan where he worked as a news editor and translator for a local news channel and edited content in English, Pashto, and Dari. Khurram has been working as a translator and interpreter in Pashto and Dari with Untold Narratives since the start of the year while continuing his work as a news reporter.
