Nezar Andary

is a filmmaker, writer, and cultural animator who ignites public conversations around cinema, ecology, and the fault lines of politics and culture. His debut feature documentary has screened internationally, including at the Cairo International Film Festival, the San Francisco Documentary Festival, and Doclisboa. He is currently in post-production on
his second feature on friendship, entitled Just to Get Out There, and continues to develop long-form work, moving between personal testimony and cultural history. Andary is widely published in literature and history, and co-edits the Palgrave book series Focus on Arab Cinema. He serves as Artistic Director of the Al Sidr Environmental Film Festival, currently in its 5th edition, and of the Performing Books Season with the House of Wisdom in Sharjah. He is currently working on a feature fiction project entitled No Barking.
