Nazli Tarzi

is a bilingual, multidisciplinary MENA-focused writer currently working as senior analyst at the corporate intelligence and cyber security firm, S-RM. Her professional experience spans multiple fields ­— investigative journalism, corporate intelligence, academia, and documentary filmmaking. Nazli specializes in Iraq, Egypt and GCC states, and has a particular interest in state-society relations, tribal and informal politics, war economies and Middle East film history. Nazli is also a budding archivist and a founding member of Archive Iraq; a collective led by academics and writers working to preserve Iraq’s historical memory. Her bylines and documentary credits include Al-Jazeera, The Arab Weekly, Al-Monitor, The New Arab, BBC Arabic, the Journal of Contemporary Iraq and the Arab World and Netflix. In her spare time, Nazli works as an assistant producer in documentary filmmaking.
