Paola Caridi, a journalist and historian, has lived in the Middle East since 2001. She is a founding member of the press agency, Lettera22, for which she worked as a reporter and political analyst in Jerusalem for ten years. She is a lecturer in international relations at the University of Alermo and a member of the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI), an Italian think tank that focuses on international relations. Her books include Jerusalem Without God (2017) and Arab Invisibili (2007). Hamas: From Resistance to Government was published in Italy in 2009 and in Palestine in 2010. Its first edition in English appeared in 2012, and was updated before the October 7, 2023 terrorist attacks.
