Marie Bamyani

Marie Bamyani is a short story writer and psychologist. She completed her degree in psychology at Kabul University after which she went to Symbiosis University, India to complete a Master’s degree in communication management. Once back in Kabul she worked as a communications manager for various NGOs whilst also establishing her own women-led counseling service, the Meaning of Life. Bamyani is a contributor to My Pen Is the Wing of a Bird (London: MacLehose Press, 2022), Rising After the Fall (London: Scholastic, 2023) and My Dear Kabul (London: Cornet/Hodder, 2024). She now lives in Germany.

Dr. Zubair Popalzai is a Pashto, Dari, and English language translation and interpretation professional with more than 20 years of experience. He is a consultant translator for BBC Monitoring and has worked as an interpreter for UN special envoys in politically and militarily sensitive environments in South Asia. He is also employed as a legal interpreter at solicitors’ offices, tribunals, immigration detention centers, and police contexts in the UK.
