Maha Al Aswad

is a writer in Cairo whose multidisciplinary research examines power relations in social life and their effects on knowledge, identity, and creativity. She has published papers on media freedom, access to knowledge, and human rights. Born in Kalyubia Governorate in ’85, she graduated from Cairo University’s School of Mass Communication in 2006, the American University in Cairo’s Department of Law in 2013, and Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service (International Affairs) in 2021.
