Ati Metwaly

is an award-winning Cairo-based Polish-Egyptian journalist, Editor of Arts and Culture at Ahram Online since its founding in 2010. She was a co-founding Editorial Director of Egypt’s first English language magazine about arts, The Art Review (2004-2009); and continues to write analytical and critical pieces, features, interviews, researches, about arts and artists for Egyptian, regional and international publications (The Africa Report, Opera UK, The Contrapuntal). Metwaly is in charge of the English daily bulletin of Cairo International Film Festival and works as an International Relations Director for Aswan International Women Film Festival. Actively involved in Egypt’s artistic scene, in 2018 she co-founded and manages Cultograph, a Cairo-based creative space and studio.
