Tala Jarjour

is interested in music, emotion, religion, and culture. She has published extensively on religious music from the Middle East, especially on Syriac chant. Her current work expands an interest in emotion and sound to areas of cognition, neuroaesthetics, and psychology. She is active in promoting awareness of the importance of mental health for wellbeing, especially in educational circles and in contexts of conflict, and most recently through the nonprofit organization Magenta Mind.
