Salah Badis

Salah Badis is an author from Algeria. He published the collection of poetry Ḍajar̊ ạlbawạkẖir̊   [The Boredom of Ships] (Al Mutawassit, 2016), followed by his collection of short stories, Hadẖihi ạumwruⁿ taḥ̊dutẖ̊ [Things That Happen] (Al Mutawassit, 2019), and its subsequent translation into French, Des Choses qui Arrivent, in 2023. His poems and essays have been translated into English, French, and Turkish, and have appeared in The Markaz Review; Critical Muslim, and The Funambulist, among others. A founding member of Nafha magazine, he is a journalist, music editor, and a cultural researcher for print and radio. Badis also translates from French into Arabic. Among the authors he has translated are Joseph Andras, Eric Vuillard, and Jean Sénac.
