Rabi Georges is a cultural programmer and strategy advisor with over 20 years of work experience in Europe and the Middle East. Born in 1981 in Germany of Syrian origin, he has a Master’s equivalent in Costume Design and a Master’s equivalent in Visual Arts at the Berlin University of the Arts. For the latter he was awarded the President’s Fine Arts Award of the University. He travelled for the granted NaFöG research stipend to Syria, Jordan, Turkey, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and the United Arab Emirates, where he settled in 2012 to work for cultural institutions across the Emirates. Over the years, he has participated in exhibitions in Germany, Brazil, UK, UAE, and France. In the UAE, he has worked for Dubai Community Theatre and Arts Centre, Goethe-Institut Gulf-Region, Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation and Alserkal Avenue. Throughout, Rabi Georges has focused on developing strategic partnerships to implement institutional and governmental cultural policies. Currently he works for the Department of Culture and Tourism at the Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation.
