\/>\nand so went on forever.<br \/>\nI rode on the back of his untamed wind,<br \/>\nI spun my life into detective stories,<br \/>\nI dwelled forty bodies and left fifty,<br \/>\nI married twice,<br \/>\nI almost died<br \/>\na thousand times in my dreams<br \/>\nIf it weren\u2019t for the scarecrow of loneliness<br \/>\nwho punctured the silence of the night<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">I tattooed a Canaanite tablet on my back<br \/>\nand took to persuading people<br \/>\nthat I was four thousand years old.<br \/>\nI built houses on hills that I did not know.<br \/>\nI lived in them,<br \/>\nthen razed them to the ground,<br \/>\nthen built others<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">I discarded men, and attracted others<br \/>\nI thought I had been killed<br \/>\nbut my soul kept running<br \/>\nback to my chest<br \/>\nI politely threw love out,<br \/>\nand so he came back<br \/>\nthrough the window<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">I slaughtered the children that I thought up,<br \/>\nto escape the prisons of motherhood.<br \/>\nAnd motherhood watched from afar, delighted<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">I hid my father\u2019s rifle<br
